How do we reduce energy in Buildings

Reducing energy in Building is started by changing the fixed drive motors to variable speed drive (VSD) motors. Major energy consumers are the Chiller pumps. In most buildings, these Chiller pumps runs continously, although room temperature is already low. With VSD, these Chiller Pumps speed could be reduced as per temperature requirement. Thus saving energy.

The other efforts in reducing energy at buildings, involves in energy efficiency at the air side. If the speed of motors for blowers and fans, could also be reduced, when the temperature is already low, the energy could be reduced. With Variable Speed Drive (VSD) Motors for Fans and Blowers for cooling air, the energy could be optimized using a controllable system ie using a Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) Control, similar to Chiller side.

Based on the above control, Optimum condition could be found. This is the condition with the lowest energy consumption

The optimum condition can be monitored and controlled in real time
